Johnson Pool

Johnson Pool has been home to Catawba swimming since 1993, when the women's program began. The men started competition in 2006. It was built in 1970 for recreational swimming as part of the Abernethy Physical Education Center. The pool has seating for 100 fans and has dimensions in yards of 25x20x4. Catawba hosts the annual Halloween Boo Bash Relays at Johnson Pool. The facility was named in honor of Allen Johnson, Jr., who was a business leader in the Rowan County area and former All-American athlete at Duke University.
