Charlotte, N.C. ---- The 25th-ranked Catawba College women's swim team concluded three historic days of competition at the Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy Friday through Sunday, breaking 11 school records, recording 37 top-10 times in program history and five NCAA B Cuts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
200 Yard Freestyle Relay
- The women's team opened the action, with the team of Alix Henras-Marouf, Brinkley Watson, Marit Reckmann, and Bridgette Pearson broke the school record with a time of 1:35.00
500 Yard Freestyle
- Fiona Byrne finished with a time of 5:04.29 in the bonus heat
50 Yard Freestyle
- Reckmann finished 7th overall in the women's championship heat with a school-record time of 23.82, while Watson took 23rd overall and eighth in the consolation group with a time of 24.38
400 Yard Medley Relay
- The team of Ashley Fortin, Hannah Koopmans, Watson, and Reckmann took 11th with a program-record time of 3:50.81
200 Yard Medley Relay
- Fortin, Koopmans, Watson, and Reckmann broke another school record and placed 10th thanks to a time of 1:45.95, followed by a 17th placed finish and combined time of 1:48.27 from Wilson, Gabriella Moll, Possenti, and Henras-Marouf
100 Yard Butterfly
- Watson finished 11th overall and third in the Consolation heat with a school-record time of 56.09 on the women's side
200 Yard Freestyle
- Gutenwik finished 23rd overall and eighth in the bonus heat with a time of 1:54.20
100 Yard Breastroke
- Koopmans paced the women with a 17th overall finish, good for a school-record time of 1:05.31. She would be followed by Moll at 21st overall and fifth in the same heat at 1:06.48
100 Yard Backstroke
- Fortin finished 20th overall for the women and fourth in the Bonus group with a time of 57.95
800 Yard Freestyle Relay
- The team of Koopmans, Gutenwik, Byrne, and Wilson would place 14th overall, breaking another school record with a time of 7:41.87
1650 Yard Freestyle
- Byrne finished seventh for the women time a final time of 17:02.11, and Jolina Franke placing in 26th with an 18:08.55 mark and Lillie Martin taking 28th at 18:29.15
200 Yard Backstroke
- Wilson and Fortin finished second and third in the Bonus heat and 18th/19th overall, as Wilson set another school record with a time of 2:03.12 and Fortin a 2:04.65 mark on the women's side
100 Yard Freestyle
- Reckmann took 15th overall and seventh in the Consolation heat thanks to a school-record 51.58 effort
200 Yard Breaststroke
- Moll swam her way to a fifth place finish in the women's Championship heat thanks to time of 2:19.79, with Koopmans finishing 17th overall and leading the Bonus heat with a time of 2:22.21
200 Yard Butterfly
- Possenti placed 15th overall and seventh in the Consolation bracket with a time of 2:06.87, watching another school record fall
400 Yard Freestyle Relay
- The team of Koopmans, Reckmann, Watson, and Fortin taking 12th set a school-record time of 3:29.56, as Catawba set a school record in each of the relays, while another team of Gutenwik, Henras-Marouf, McKenzie Peurifoy, and Wilson would finish 17th at 3:34.40
