Greeneville, Tenn. —- The Catawba College women's lacrosse team dropped a Saturday contest at Tusculum Saturday 15-3 in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action. The Pioneers improve to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the SAC, while Catawba drops to 3-10 overall and 1-5 in league play.
Kylie Harris recorded a pair of assists on the day, while Michaela Lantz, Mary Sorvillo and Caroline Cox picked up the goals for Catawba. Joey Baillie recorded a team-high three ground balls and Rebecca Salber had a team-best three caused turnovers.
Tusculum scored the game's first four goals before Cox scored on a Harris assist at the 4:06 mark of the first period. The Pioneers scored the final six goals of the half to take a 10-1 lead into the halftime locker room.
Lantz scored the first goal of the second half for Catawba less than three minutes in and Sorvillo answered a Pioneer goal with a score of her own to take the third period. Tusculum scored each of the four goals in the fourth quarter to pull away for the conference win.
Catawba returns to action in a week, hitting the road to face Newberry next Saturday, April 8 for a noon start.
