Samantha Payne won the women's 400m setting a new school record with a time of 54.05. It was good enough for a NCAA provisional make and the 10th fastest time recorded in Division II this year. Payne also won the 200m event at the Wake Forest invitational with a time of 24.29.
Freshman Madison Clay finished 5th in the women's 10K with a NCAA provisional time of 34:57.28. It is a new school record in the event for Clay and the 17th fastest time in DII.
Erick Ramirez set a new school record and hit a NCAA Provisional mark in the men's 5K with a time of 14:24.24.
Catawba freshman Natalie Almond set a new school record in the women's 1500m. She ran a time of 4:38.47.
Rashaun Noble finished 3rd in the men's 100m setting a new school record and hitting an NCAA provisional mark with a time of 10.47.
The women's side of the of the event would also be successful for Catawba as Kierra Jones set a school record running a 12.09 which landed her with a 3rd place finish. Jones would also see another 3rd place finish in the 200m event with a sprint of 25.09.
Junior Barja Walter claimed second in the men's 200m with a new school record. Running a 21.16, Walter also hit an NCAA provisional mark.
Javier Gomez-Wilson finished first in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.27m. Teammate Antonio Howard finished in third place jumping a 7.16m.
MeKayla White secured a NCAA mark when she finished 4th in the women's long jump with a leap of 6.07m. She also finished 5th in the triple jump with a leap of 11.09m.
