Mt. Pleasant, S.C. – The Catawba College Women's Golf team was in action at the Low Tide Invitational on Monday, competing in the opening two rounds at the Dunes West Golf Club and heading into round three on Tuesday in eighth place after several players were able to find their form for a team score of +50, 626
HOW IT HAPPENED
· Mary-Paige King would finish the day T-26th, recovering well from a +8, 80 in the opening round with a strong +2, 74 effort with four birdies that saw her rise up the leaderboards. King will carry a +10, 154 into the third and final round, looking to maintain the momentum from today's afternoon
· Chloe Crane ended Monday T-34th at +11, 155. Similar to King, Crane started the day off with a +8, 80 in the opening round, but rounded into form in the second frame with a solid +3, 75 where she was even or better on 14/18 holes
· Emily Wellspeak ended the opening two rounds T-44th with a score of +13, 157, finding herself the third Catawba player with a +8, 80 in round one. Just like King and Crane, though, she was able to rebound with a better round two, shooting a +5, 77 frame with three birdies
· Lauren Hackler concluded the second round T-48th at +15, 159 after shooting +7, 79 in the first round and recording a +8, 80 ledger in the second round
· Maddy Vogan ended the day 68th with a score of +24, 168
NOTES
· Crane concluded the first two rounds T-5th in pars, with 22
· King and Wellspeak would both finish the first day T-5th in birdies, with five each
