Hickory Port, Fla. —- The Catawba College Beach Volleyball team fell in its two opening matchups of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Small College Beach Championships in Hickory Port on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Savanna Corrales and Hayes Smith fell in the opening doubles match 13-21, 17-21

- Ragan Ball and Katie Willingham followed up, but fell short 13-21, 10-21

- Brooklyn Calkins and JJ Quarrels were not able to pick up a win to stay alive in the first match of pool play

MATCH TWO | Concordia Irvine 3, Catawba 0

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The teams of Corrales/Smith, Ball and Calkins/Quarrels fell short in match two of pool play
