Hickory Port, Fla. —- The Catawba College Beach Volleyball was in action on the third and final day of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Small College Beach Championships in Hickory Port on Sunday, defeating the Emmanuel Lions in four sets before falling to the Erskine Flying Fleet in the Copper Bracket Final in three sets for the season finale
MATCH ONE – Catawba 3, Emmanuel 1
- Savanna Corrales and Hayes Smith would be defeated on Court No. 1, with the Lions' duo of Ellie Jackson and Isabela Zukowski taking 21-13 and 21-11 sets
- Morgan Childress and Christina Knotts picked up a win on Court No. 2 as they knocked off Brianna Bigelow and Layla Bland in a three-set battle. Childress and Knotts picked up the initial victory with a 21-19 triumph in the first set, before the pair from Emmanuel evened the match with a 21-16 second frame. In the decisive third set, Childress and Knotts returned to their form from the opening matchup to earn a 15-8 win and the point
- Brooklyn Calkins and JJ Quarrels earned a two-set win playing from the No. 4 position, taking down Rachel McGlamery and Cailin Pritchard with a 21-18 opening set and a 21-13 second frame for the point
- Lauren Shepherd and Claire Vinskus defeated Hannah Farrar and Alondra Rios on the No. 5 court, cruising to the win in two sets with scores of 21-12 and 21-14 as they set the tone for the morning
MATCH TWO – Catawba 0, Erskine 3
- Ball and Willingham would be defeated on the No. 3 court, falling in a tough match against Erskine's pairing of Anna Haselden and Sarilyne Walley in a 21-16 opening set and a 21-18 second set
- Calkins and Quarrels battled against Paige Knotts and Kayley Preston from the No. 5 position, as Flying Fleet duo pulled out a two-set victory 21-13 and 21-14
- Kenndy Kimbro and Jada Whittal dueled against Erskine's tandem of Caroline Kelly and Phoenix Slager on the No. 5 court, dropping a 21-13 opening set and a 21-14 second frame
