GREENSBORO, N.C. — As the only Division II program in a field of 11, the Catawba College women's golf team rose to the occasion in a ninth-place finish at the UNCG Collegiate as proceedings wrapped up Tuesday. Catawba led The Citadel for most of the event before taking a three-shot lead over North Carolina Central thanks to the Catawba Indians' third-round improvements.
Host UNC Greensboro pulled past UNC Asheville to prevail as team champion with an 885 (+21) including two top-five finishers. Individual medalist honors went to Chutimon Rujiranan of Wake Forest who closed the tournament at 213 (-3), joining runner-up Ekaterina Prokhorova (North Carolina A&T) as the event's lone under-par competitors.

HIGHLIGHTS
- King stayed consistent throughout the tournament with a 76-76-75 card to place firmly inside the top half of the leaderboard
- Waddell birdied three of the last six holes of the three-round event, capping her final 18 at 75 total shots which upped her standing by six slots
- Kristinsdottir similarly hit her stride in the second half of Tuesday action, shooting one-under-par through the last 11 holes; the Icelandic sophomore improved by three shots in Round 2, then four shots in Round 3
- Buxton recorded her second-best round of the season to finish Monday's 36-hole slate with a 76
- Carlson rounded out the Catawba stable with an 85-80-82 scorecard that featured two birdies
