Kingsport, Tenn. — The ninth-ranked Catawba College men's swimming team rolled to a pair of wins at the Kingsport Aquatic Center, home of the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships, over Milligan and Roanoke on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
200-Yard Medley Relay
- Catawba's 200 Medley relay team of George Fykatas, Greg Kisshauer, Maks Minichowski and Matt Howard finished first with a time of 1:30.68
200-Yard Freestyle
- Nazar Herashcenko made a move to middle distance and took the win in the 200 Free with a mark of 1:39.85
50-Yard Freestyle
- Minichowski cleared the rest of the field by half a second in the 50 Free, touching the wall in 20.37 seconds
200-Yard Individual Medley
- Jules Remy added a win in the 200 IM, besting the top Milligan competitor by two-tenths of a second with a mark of 1:52.10
100-Yard Backstroke
- Fykatas broke a stretch of Milligan heat wins with a victorious 50.81 second-effort, more than three seconds over the next competitor
500-Yard Freestyle
- Herashchenko followed up with another win in the 500 Free, pacing the field by over 10 seconds with a mark of 4:31.36
100-Yard Breaststroke
- Minichowski added a win in the 100 Breast, besting the field by over two seconds with a time of 54.23
200-Yard Freestyle Relay
- Catawba closed the day with a win in the 200 Free relay with their team of Ivo Cruz, Howard, Minichowski and Ryan Case
