Blacksburg, Va. —- Catawba College senior Win Porter represented Catawba College with a first-place finish in the 60-meter dash at the Doc Hale VT Meet, besting two runners from Duke, Virginia Tech, George Mason and Winthrop to highlight Men's Indoor Track and Field's day across the VT and Camel City Invites.
HOW IT HAPPENED
60-Meter Dash (Virginia Tech)
- Porter set a blazing mark of 6.72 seconds in the 60-meter dash, edging out Duke senior TJ Clayton to take first place in Blacksburg
400-Meter Dash
- Jordan Grant was Catawba's top finisher in the 400-meter dash, placing 37th with a mark of 53.81
- John Shearin IV and Mikell Simpson also earned top-50 finishes
60-Meter Dash
- Darius Turner earned a top-five finish in the 60-meter dash finals, with a mark of 6.86
200-Meter Dash
- Jeremiah Hailstock turned in a top-10 effort in the 200-meter dash, finishing eighth with a time of 22.89
- Simpson and Brendan Henby were top-20 finishers with marks of 23.17 and 23.26, respectively
4x400-Meter Relay
- Catawba's team of Grant, Tyler Johnson, Simpson and Shearin finished eighth with a mark of 3:41.39
