Greensboro, N.C. —-- The 15th-ranked Catawba College women's swimming team added two more conference titles at Day Four of the South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
500 Yard Freestyle
- Sophomore Ella Gutenwik earned her first SAC title of the week with a nearly 8-second improvement on her prelim time with a 4:57.69 in the 500 Free
- Fiona Byrne and Danielle Meneima made it an all-Catawba top three in the event with 4:59.23 and 4:45.29 times, respectively
100 Yard Backstroke
- Eniko Onofer was the top Catawba finisher in the 100 Backstroke, placing fourth with a time of 56.07, good for an NCAA B-cut
- Marit Reckmann also earned a spot in the finals, finishing eighth with a time of 57.90
100 Yard Breaststroke
- Sydney McKenzie challenged for the SAC title in the 100 Breast, finishing as a close runner-up with a time of 1:02.36
- Gabi Moll and Hannah Koopmans also competed in the Championship Heat with fifth and seventh-place finishes, respectively, with marks of 1:04.67 and 1:05.96
200 Yard Butterfly
- Jolina Franke and Sydney Peterson earned a spot in the final heat, placing fourth and eighth, respectively
200 Yard Freestyle Relay
- Catawba's 200 Free relay team of Onofer, Reckmann, Marleen Plachetka and Brinkley Watson upended the top seed coming in Wingate with a B-cut qualifying time of 1:32.69 to earn the SAC title
THE STANDINGS
- Catawba remains in second place overall after Day Four, judy 81 points behind meet leader Wingate and over 400 points above third-place Carson-Newman

- The Catawba Indians close out action at the SAC Championships tomorrow with the last five finals in the 1650 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke and 400 Freestyle Relay
