Indianapolis, Ind. —- Catawba College men's indoor track and field sprinter Winfred Porter and Miles Stephens both earned a top-eight finish in the preliminaries of the 60 meter dash on Thursday at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, earning them a spot for a national title on Saturday in the championship final.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Porter raced to a mark of 6.67, good for fifth place

- Stephens ran an eighth-place mark of 6.68
