Herashchenko, Minichowski adds additional All-American honors on Day Four of NCAA Men's Swimming Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. —- The Catawba College men's swimming team was back in action at the NCAA Division II Swimming Championships in Indianapolis on Friday, as Nazar Herashchenko and Maks Minichowski added their second and third All-American honors, respectively, of the week.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

MORNING SESSION

500 Yard Freestyle Preliminaries

- Herashchenko impressed with a school-record 4:21.34 in the 500 free prelims, good for clinching the second seed in the evening's championship final

 

100 Yard Breaststroke Preliminaries

- Minichowski punched his ticket to his third championship final of the week, earning sixth in the 100 Breast prelims with a mark of 53.22

 

EVENING SESSION

500 Yard Freestyle

- Herashcenko added another All-American performance to his week, finishing sixth with a mark of 4:22.13

 

100 Yard Breaststroke

 - Minichowski followed suit with an eighth-place effort in the 100 Breast finals, racing to the end wall in 53.41

 

STANDINGS UPDATE

- Catawba stands at 15th in the overall team standings heading into Day Five of the NCAA Championships on Saturday

 

UP NEXT

- The Catawba Indians return on Saturday to the final day of the NCAA Championships, with national championships to be earned in the 1650 Free, 100 Free, 200 Back, 200 Breast and the 400 Free relay
