Men's Track and Field 4x100 sets school record, top NCAA mark in Day Two of Charlotte 49er Classic

Charlotte, N.C. —- The Catawba College men's track and field team capped off a successful opening weekend of outdoor season at the Charlotte 49er Classic on Saturday, highlighted by the new number one time in the country in the 4x100.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

TRACK

4x100 Meter Relay

- Catawba's 4x100 relay team of Brendan Henby, Miles Stephens, Darius Turner and Winfred Porter blazed their way to a first-place finish over host Charlotte and the new top time in Division II in the 4x100 with a school-record 40.03 finish

 

200 Meter Dash

- Tyler Johnson was the top Catawba finisher in the men's 200, placing 13th with a mark of 21.87 seconds

- Jeremiah Hailstock and Mikell Simpson also earned top-35 finishes in the event with times of 22.29 and 22.59, respectively

 

3K Run

- EJ Threatt was Catawba's only entry in the 3K run and turned in a top-10 finish, placing 10th with a 9:15.74 effort

UP NEXT

- Catawba track and field returns to action next week, as they are split between the Davidson and Raleigh Relays Thursday through Saturday
