Laurinburg, N.C. —- The Catawba College beach volleyball team earned a sweep over St. Andrews in non-league action to open up the week on Monday in Laurinburg.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Sidney Kettelkamp and Brooke Vaughan earned a quick 21-14, 21-14 sweep at the #5 position

- Taylor Vecchione and Ragan Ball followed suit with a 21-13, 21-16 victory at #4s

- Hayes Smith and Ri Arevalo came out with a win against St. Andrews' top-ranked duo with a 21-19, 21-13 triumph

- Katie Willingham and Kennedy Kimbro came back from an 18-21 loss in the opening set to take the remaining two 21-16 and 15-10

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Morgan Childress and Christina Knotts bounced back from a loss in the opening match to take a 21-14, 21-9 win at #2s in the ensuing match

- Kimbro and Willingham earned a 2-0 day with a 21-16, 21-12 victory at #3s

- Vecchione and Ball followed suit with a 21-17, 21-16 win at #4s

- Smith and Arevalo added another top-ranked win to their season with a 21-19, 21-18 victory

- Vaughan and Kettelkamp also pulled out a tightly contested match with a 21-18, 21-19 win at #5s
