Women's Golf, Carlson place third at Patsy Rendleman Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Catawba College women's golf team posted a third-place finish at its home tournament, the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, led by Rachel Carlson's second consecutive podium.

Carlson recorded her best score of the year, putting together a 223 while going 72-72-79 to slot third for an All-Tournament Team selection. Mary-Paige King registered a 77 in the final round to complete the event in T-10th with a 229 (+16).

Sara Kristinsdottir finished in the top half of the field using her 54-hole score of 236 (+23), good for 17th place. Taya Buxton cruised into a T-22nd place standing as she wrapped up the tournament at 246 (+14). Hannah Waddell weathered the intense wind on Day 2 to shoot an 82, the 21st-best third round, for a 253 (+40) final tally in 29th.

Emily Rosenschein stacked up T-27th with a 251 (+38), logging an 87 in Tuesday's final round. Valentina Moran turned in an 83 – highlighted by a back-nine 40 – to close proceedings at 259 (+46) and capture T-31st.

Catawba was 13 shots off the leader in each of the event's three rounds, wrapping up The Patsy Rendleman with a 319 to amass a team score of 927 (+75) and take third place.

Boasting four golfers in the Top 5, Tampa cruised to the team championship at 888 (+36) as Justine Bayle snared the individual medalist honor with her 220 (+7).
