Sumter, S.C. —- The 6th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team claimed its second consecutive South Atlantic Conference Tournament title on Friday at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. with a 4-2 victory over second-seeded and 17th-ranked Wingate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Lili Drukerova and Ami Miya rolled to a 6-1 victory at #1 doubles
- Sofia Antolini and Rin Igarashi helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 win at #2s
- Tina Gomes and Nika Dundovic led 5-3 at the clinch point
SINGLES
- Drukerova made it a 2-0 day with a 6-0, 6-3 win at #4 singles
- Miya also made quick work, defeating the #3 singles opponent 6-3, 6-1
- Igarashi clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #5s
- Igarashi was named SAC Tournament MVP
