GULFPORT, Fla. — The Catawba College women's golf team kicked off its season at the Eckerd Invitational with the tournament's first two rounds on Monday at Pasadena Yacht & Country Club. Catawba stands 11th in the field led by Wingate, Flagler and Anderson in the podium positions.

HIGHLIGHTS
- King carded a steady 77-78, registering three birdies during a one-over-par back nine in the second round
- Kristinsdottir's round-two 77 chopped four shots off her initial 18-hole score and marked her third-lowest round as a Catawba Indian
- After seeing limited action as a freshman last season, Waddell put on a show with a career-best round of 77 to start the day; she rallied back from four straight bogeys to string together three consecutive birdies late in the round
- Buxton and Carlson recorded identical cards showing 82-86 through the opening two rounds
- As a team, Catawba has fired 639 total strokes (+63) heading into Tuesday's final 18
