GULFPORT, Fla. — Sophomore Hannah Waddell smashed her previous career-best round and 54-hole score on Tuesday as she paced the Catawba College women's golf team in its 11th-place finish at the Eckerd Invitational. The Catawba Indians posted a team score of 958 (+94) in their season-opening tournament.
Led by a second-place finish from defending WGCA National Golfer of the Year Amely Bochaton, Wingate bagged the team title with a 13-over-par 877. Individually, Henriette Stranda of Flagler clipped Bochaton by a single stroke with a seven-under 209 to claim medalist honors.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Waddell dotted three birdies in her final round to record a two-over-par 74, totaling 232 strokes in the tournament to beat her previous career-low by 21 shots
- King started the day with a birdie on par-3 Hole No. 11, but fell on hard times and chalked up a third-round 83
- Kristinsdottir parred 11 holes, sharing the team lead for the day with Waddell, while also carding an 83 to split 48th place with King
- Buxton finished the same way she started, posting an 82 on Tuesday; she finished each hole one stroke over par or better
- Carlson trimmed a stroke off her score entering the final day, registering an 85 to round out the Catawba contingent
