Salisbury, N.C. — The 10th-ranked Catawba College women's swimming team earned wins in 12 of 14 events on Friday in their return to campus in a win over 22nd-ranked Carson-Newman at Johnson Pool following a celebration of the program's seniors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
200-Yard Medley Relay
- Catawba opened up the meet with a win by nearly four seconds in the 200-Yard Medley Relay as the team of
Eniko Onofer,
Sydney McKenzie,
Sydney Peterson and
Marit Reckmann pulled out the win
1000-Yard Freestyle

Fiona Byrne beat the field by nearly 27 seconds in the Women's 1000 Free, clearing the B-cut standard with a time of 10:20.06
200-Yard Freestyle
- Mid-year newcomer
Fernanda Regina earned the event win in the Women's 200 Free, posting a mark of 1:52.93
100-Yard Backstroke
- Onofer set a fastest time for the season in the Women's 100 Back with a time of 56.02, good for an NCAA B-cut
100-Yard Breaststroke
- McKenzie added another win on her Senior Day with a 1:03.63 effort in the Women's 100 Breaststroke, as Catawba swept all six top spots in the event
50-Yard Freestyle
- On her Senior Day, Reckmann added another event win in the Women's 50 Free, posting a time of 23.72
100-Yard Freestyle
- Reckmann followed it up with another win in the 100 Free. beating out the closest Carson-Newman swimmer by four-tenths of a second with an effort of 52.42 seconds
200-Yard Breaststroke
- Senior
Gabriella Moll cleared the rest of the field by five seconds in the Women's 200 Breast with a time of 2:19.43, good for an NCAA B-cut
500-Yard Freestyle
- Senior
Danielle Meinema earned an event win on her Senior Day with a time of 5:05.64 in the Women's 500 Free
100-Yard Butterfly
- McKenzie earned another event win in the 100 Fly with a mark of 56.30
200-Yard Individual Medley
- Regina capped off an impressive debut with a win in the Women's 200 IM with a time of 2:08.24
200-Yard Freestyle Relay
- Catawba's team of Onofer, Reckmann,
Eszter Pajor and
Marleen Plachetka closed the day with a win in the Women's 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:34.64
