Salisbury, N.C. — The 8th-ranked Catawba College men's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 win over Converse in its spring opener at the Johnson Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Fresh off their ITA regional title in the fall, Agustin Mastri and Luca Bergoniz picked up a 6-2 win in #1 doubles
- New faces Santiago Passoni and Alen Bill helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win at #2 doubles
SINGLES
- Mastri made it two wins on the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-2 win at #1 singles
- Bergonzi followed suit with a 6-3, 7-6 win at #3s
- Ryosuke Inagawa won a tiebreak in the opening set en route to a 7-5, 6-4 win at #4 singles
- Alen Bill also broke a tiebreak in the opening set, winning his #5s match, 7-5, 6-4
- Alessandro Valletta rolled to a 6-3, 6-1 win at #6 singles
