Indianapolis, Ind. — The 9th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team earned yet another win over a top-5 ranked team in the country on Sunday in their final match at the ITA Indoor Nationals in Indianapolis.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Ami Miya and Lili Drukerova rolled to a 6-1 win at #1 doubles
- Nika Dundovic and Tina Gomes helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 win at #3 doubles
- Rin Igarashi and Sofia Antolini were tied 3-3 in their #2 doubles match when the doubles point was clinched
SINGLES
- Miya earned a hardfought 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 win at #3 singles
- Drukerova followed suit with a 6-3, 6-4 win in the #4 singles match
- Flagler earned a win at the #6 singles match
- Katya Kldiashvili came back from a 7-6 loss in the opening set to win the second and third sets 6-2 and 6-1, respectively to help clinch the match
- Antolini and Hanna Bougouffa were in the middle of their first set when the clinch point was reached
