ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The Catawba College women's golf team put together a better second round than three top-25 teams at the World Golf Invitational on Monday, good for a 10th place standing heading into the final 18 holes.
Battling against some of the most high-profile competition this season – 14 of the 16 programs in attendance are in the top 40 per Clippd – the Catawba Indians are hanging tough behind individual scoring rounds of 80 or better in both strolls around the course. At 613 (+37), Catawba is just three strokes behind eighth-place Eckerd and are directly ahead of #8 Lynn and #7 Lee. Host Flagler is in first place on the team leaderboard with an eight-over-par 584.
