SALISBURY, N.C. — The Catawba College women's golf team swept the hardware at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, emerging from the Country Club of Salisbury with the team championship and individual medalist in Mary-Paige King.
The Catawba Indians, finishing with a team score of 923 (+71), extended their lead on Day 2 to a 17-shot buffer ahead of runner-up Lenoir-Rhyne (941, +89). West Chester fell on hard times in the third round, but not enough to surrender a podium position as the Golden Rams placed third at 969 (+117).
After King atop the leaderboard, High Point's Peyton Constabile and Ambre Matlega as well as Hanna Lignell (WCU) and McLain Neal (USCB) finished five shots behind in a four-way tie for second place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Like most of the field, King ran into chillier, more challenging conditions on Tuesday but nonetheless retained the No. 1 spot with a 76 to claim her first career individual medalist award
- Carlson fell out of the top five, but her 18th-hole birdie sweetened the round to a 79 for a sixth-place finish in the tournament
- Kristinsdottir made a sizable leap on Tuesday, registering the field's best third round with a three-over-par 74 that included four birds; the 11-position improvement placed her into 14th
- Buxton flipped a No. 15 bogey into a birdie in the final round as part of a three-over back nine on the Ohioan's day-two 80
- Waddell and Moran, competing as an individual, rounded out the Catawba Indians' scores in the third round with an 85 and 89, respectively, to place in the middle of the pack
