NINETY SIX, S.C. — The Catawba College women's golf team chalked up a new 54-hole tournament record en route to an eighth-place finish in a loaded field at the Grand Harbor Classic as proceedings closed on Tuesday.
Catawba fired the program's first-ever sub-900 score in a three-round event, registering a 27-over-par 891 capped by Tuesday's seven-over 295. The blue and white landed 10 strokes behind fifth-place No. 3 Anderson while owning a 17-stroke advantage over next-best finisher UMSL.
With a below-par final team score, No. 1 Wingate won the Grand Harbor Classic behind top-ranked player Amely Bochaton's seven-under 209. Bochaton tied with Lee's Hannah Nall atop the individual leaderboard and prevailed in a playoff.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following day-one rounds that varied by eight shots, Carlson straightened out in Round 3 thanks to a quartet of birdies to finish 10th
- King flipped each of her six second-round bogeys into pars, going perfectly even except for a seventh-hole birdie for a consistent 71 to place 10th alongside Carlson; the performance marks her third straight top-10 finish
- Kristinsdottir also notched a third-round par with three birds, wrapping up competition in a tie for 23rd place with her first under-par event of the year
- Buxton improved by three strokes from the second to the third round with a counting score of 80 to finish out the tournament in 64th
- Waddell turned in a final card of 83-83-83 featuring a trio of birdies across her final eight holes
