Jefferson City, Tenn. —- The Catawba College softball team saw its season come to a close on Sunday in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament, falling to Carson-Newman, 14-6.
TEAM STATISTICS

- She capped her final Catawba game with a home run in her final collegiate at-bat
- Adda Prescott went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored
- Grace Flynn and Alexis Monroe both doubled and scored
- Jordan McCorkle doubled and drove in a run
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST INNING
- Carson-Newman's leadoff hitter singled, advanced to second on a passed ball, stole third and wheeled around on a wild pitch to score the game's first run
- Grace Gregory's three-run homer put the Eagles ahead 4-0
- Monroe and Gallagher hit back-to-back doubles to add a run of their own in the bottom half of the first
SECOND INNING
- Prescott singled to lead off the second
- She scored on McCorkle's double to cut the deficit to 4-2
THIRD INNING
- Gregory led off the third with a double and later scored on a sac fly
- An Eagle RBI single pushed their lead to 6-2
- Gallagher's solo homer in the bottom half got Catawba back within three runs
FOURTH INNING
- Carson-Newman's RBI single up the middle made it 7-3
FIFTH INNING
- Flynn doubled to lead off the fifth
- A bunt single from Gallagher moved her up to third, where she scored on Maddy Altiers' sac fly
- Prescott drove in another on a single through the right side, cutting the deficit to 7-5
SIXTH INNING
- Carson-Newman added to their lead with an RBI double in the sixth
SEVENTH INNING
- The Eagles broke the lead open with a six-spot in the top of the seventh inning, leading 14-5
- Gallagher hit a solo shot to center field in the final at-bat of her career in the bottom half
