Ehmer earns prestigious SAC President’s Award

Rock Hill. S.C. – Catawba College Women's Soccer junior forward Bree Ehmer was selected as a recipient of the prestigious 2025-26 South Atlantic Conference President's Award, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

The highest individual honor presented annually by the South Atlantic Conference, the President's Award is voted on by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives and to be eligible, student-athletes must exemplify excellence in athletics, academics and community service. Further, to be nominated for this prestigious award, the individual must have been honored as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year during the year in one of the league's sponsored sports.

Ehmer, a junior from Melbourne, Fla., was named a College Sports Communicators First Team Academic All-America. She owns a 3.97 cumulative grade point average in Sports Medicine. A member of the Presidential Honor Roll, Dean's List and SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Ehmer also serves on Catawba's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Vice President of the Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group. She also helps serve as a recreational youth soccer coach.

On the field, Ehmer earned D2CCA National Player of the Year honors along with 2026 SAC Offensive Player of the Year accolades. The three-time First Team All-SAC selection helped lead Catawba to SAC regular season and tournament titles, scoring 17 goals and six assists en route to the top seed in the Southeast Regional.

Ehmer is the first Catawba student-athlete to earn the President's Award since men's soccer student-athlete Kevin Kerr following the 1999-00 academic year.
