GREENWOOD, Ind. — Ilia Antoniadis of the Catawba College men's golf program was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Third Team in the At-Large category, the organization announced on Wednesday.
During his second year in Salisbury, Antoniadis notched a stroke average of 72.61 with 13 under-par rounds in one of the program's finest campaigns. The Munich, Germany product won the Richard Rendleman Invitational in the fall using a six-under round and a 36-hole score of 136; both totals were the lowest in Catawba history. His postseason honors have included Second Team All-South Atlantic Conference and PING All-Southeast Region with a team-high No. 36 national ranking.
Antoniadis was also a stellar performer in the classroom, earning a 3.92 cumulative GPA while majoring in entrepreneurship. He was selected to the Dean's List (3.5 GPA, 15+ credit hours) in all four semesters and appeared on the Presidential Honor Roll (3.7 GPA, 30+ credit hours) for the 2024-25 academic year.
Antoniadis is one of just six sophomores in Division II on the Academic All-America® Men's At-Large list. He becomes the third Catawba Indian to be named an Academic All-American – the first in 29 years – following Chad Clayton (1996) and Nick Sabol (1997).
