Raheem Thomas joined the Catawba College men’s volleyball program as Assistant Coach in Summer 2025.

Thomas comes to Catawba following club volleyball coaching positions and an extensive, successful playing career.

The Christiansted, Virgin Islands, native wrapped up his five-year career as a student-athlete on the court last spring at Fort Valley State. Thomas was a First Team All-SIAC honoree in 2024 and led the Wildcats to conference titles in both seasons at FVSU, making the program the first HBCU to reach the NCAA Tournament. He previously spent time at the University of Charleston and Carolina University, where he competed under current Catawba head coach Bill Ferguson.

On the sidelines, Thomas holds experience with Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club and Beach South Volleyball Club where he coached teams in age groups ranging from U13 to U18. Thomas was also tasked with operating camps, clinics and lessons that have helped players take their skills to the collegiate level.
