Men's Soccer Held Scoreless In Second Half at Mars Hill

MARS HILL, N.C. -- Host Mars Hill grabbed a 2-1 win over Catawba in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Meares Stadium. The Lions up their record to 7-5-1 overall and 4-4 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians go to 6-5-2 and 2-5-1.

Kevonte Willoughby-Williams snapped a tie in the 53rd minute providing the Lions with the winning goal. The teams went to the half tied. Sebastian Bertilsson put Mars Hill up in the 14th minute before Catawba equalized in the 20th. Nico Morillo scored the goal for the Indians, firing home a cross from Christian Dibb.

The teams each took 15 shots with the Lions holding a 7-3 edge in corners. Zak Stiffler recorded three saves for the Indians with Brennan Whalen stopping two shots for Mars Hill.

Catawba returns to action next Saturday, hosting Lincoln Memorial at 4:30 p.m.
