SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba set a school record with its seventh consecutive shutout, blanking visiting Limestone 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday night at the Frock Soccer Complex. The Catawba Indians, ranked 14th in NCAA II up their record to 10-0-1 overall and 6-0 in the SAC. The Saints fall to 7-2-1 and 3-2-1.
After a scoreless first half, Catawba got the winning goal in the 58th minute. Sharon Mayes dribbled through the box then fired a shot from the top that slide inside the left post for the match's lone goal.
Catawba keeper Sierra Davis made one save, notching her seventh shutout of the season and setting an individual mark with 654 consecutive scoreless minutes. As a team, Catawba set a mark with not only for consecutive shutouts, but also consecutive scoreless minutes which now stands at 663 minutes.
Catawba steps out of conference for its next match on Wednesday, traveling to Barton for a 7 p.m. match.
