FINDLAY, Ohio -- Catawba split a pair of volleyball matches on Friday at the Croy Physical Education Center on the campus of Findlay University. The Catawba Indians won its season opener against Seton Hill then fell in a tight match to Northwood.

A trio of Lady Indians delivered 11 kills in the opening four-set win over Seton Hill. Kylie Morgan, Allison Bryant and Ashley Johnson shared the match high in kills. Catawba won the match 25-19, 25-11, 23-25 and 25-23.

Morgan added three aces and nine digs, while Johnson collected six blocks. Catawba held Seton Hill to just 8% hitting. The Lady Indians served seven aces. Kary Hales followed Morgan with two aces and picked up seven digs.

In the second match of the day, Catawba dropped a three-set tussle with Northwood by the count of 23-25, 24-26 and 20-25. Raychelle Miranda produced eight kills with a pair of aces. Morgan added seven kills. Dara Kane handed out 30 assists and Gabrille Kuzma had 11 digs.

Catawba will face the same two teams again on Saturday.
