BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Catawba stayed unbeaten with a 2-1 road win over King on Saturday afternoon at Parks Field. The Catawba Indians improve to 2-0, while the Tornado drop their opener.
Hannah Dunn scored the winning goal just a minute after King had produced an equalizer. Dunn's strike came in the 19th minute on an assist from Helen Summerell.
Sharon Mayes scored the opening goal in the 14th minute off a pass from Dunn. Bella Crisci grabbed the equalizer at the 18:09 mark for King.
Catawba held a 29-4 edge in shots and took seven corner kicks to just a pair for the hosts. Sierra Davis posted two saves for the Lady Indians with King counterpart Erin Foster recording a dozen.
Catawba returns home on Thursday, hosting Columbus State at 7 p.m.
