ANDERSON, N.C. -- Catawba edged host Anderson 1-0 on Katie Beck's goal in the 67th minute in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Trojan Stadium. The Catawba Indians improve to 14-1-2 overall and 8-0-2 in the SAC. Anderson moves to 9-3-4 and 5-2-3.

Catawba controlled the match denying Anderson a shot and a mere one corner kick. The Lady Indians fired off 23 shots and managed 14 corners. It was off one of those corners that Catawba scored. Beck headed home a corner from Kasey Hahn to break the deadlock. 

The defense did the rest providing the clean sheet for Sierra Davis, who was untested. Jeanette Campbell recorded six saves for the Trojans with two other attempts on goal cleared away by the Anderson defense.

Catawba heads to Lenoir-Rhyne for its regular-season finale on Wednesday with the SAC Championship on the line at 7:30 p.m. Both teams enter the match with 26 points.
