HARROGATE, Tenn. -- Lincoln Memorial edged visiting Catawba 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at the LMU Soccer Complex. The Railsplitters improve their record to 6-4-1 overall and 4-1 in the SAC. The Catawba Indians, ranked 25th in NCAA II, fall to 7-3-1 and 4-2-1.
LMU scored the lone goal in the 23rd minute. Ronan O'Mahony tallied off a feed from Christian Hatley.
Catawba managed just one shot in the opening 45 minutes, but opened up the second half with seven attempts. The Indians were unable to come up with the equalizer as Alan Johnson stopped all four shot on goal to post the shutout.
Zak Stiffler had the start for Catawba and made five saves. LMU out-shot Catawba 11-8 and held a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
Catawba returns home on Wednesday, hosting Limestone at 5 p.m.
