SALISBURY, N.C. -- Visiting Limestone rallied back to take a five-set win over Catawba in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action on Friday night at Goodman Gym. The Saints claimed the victory by the scores of 13-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-13 and 15-11. Limestone improves to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians fall to 3-9 and 1-4.
Ashley Johnson posted 15 kills and a pair of blocks in the loss for Catawba. Devyn Berg added a dozen kills with four aces. Setter Dara Kane handed out 41 assists with libero Kary Hales collecting 24 digs. Raytchelle Miranda chipped in with eight kills and Hayes Smith posted 14 digs.
Limestone got 14 kills and 13 digs from Mia McMillan and 13 kills from Tatum Riddle. Libero Gabby Wessels tallied 27 digs with Kaitlyn Thompson and Leilani Wilcox Nanai posting four blocks.
Catawba ran off wins in the opening two sets only to see Limestone take the next two to force the deciding set. The Lady Indians trailed 5-3 early in the fifth set, but used a 7-2 run to grab a 10-7 edge. Limestone would rebound and go on an 8-1 run to close out the match, scoring the final five points, including the final four on kills from Riddle.
Catawba will next travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. tilt with the Bears.
