Jefferson City, Tenn. —- The Catawba College men's soccer team earned a point on the road Saturday evening, drawing at Carson-Newman 2-2 in South Atlantic Conference play.
TEAM STATS

- The Eagles held the advantage in shots on goal 8-7
- Each team had five corner kicks in the match
- Both teams received two yellow cards, while Catawba had the lone red card
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Joe Allerton scored Catawba's first goal of the day
- Sebastia Cerda-Tous netted the goal that forced the draw
- Jacopo Suagher, Salano Birch, Oscar Taylor and Joe Bennett also recorded shots on goal
- Zak Stiffler made six saves in the result
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
- Carson-Newman fired the first shot on goal of the match in the 11th minute, but Stiffler stepped up for the save
- Rhydian Williams broke through for the Eagles as they took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute
SECOND HALF
- Suagher got a shot on in the 55th minute, but the attempt was cleared off the line by the Carson-Newman defense
- Another attempt from Taylor was saved in the 64th minute
- Catawba evened the score later in the same minute on Allerton's PK goal
- Stiffler made another pair of saves in the next 10 minutes before Nic Cash regained the lead for C-N in the 79th minute
- Cerda-Tous matched the score not even two minute later to tie the game back up at 2
- Stiffler racked up three more saves the rest of the way, as Catawba earned the point on the road
