Wise, Va. —- The Catawba College women's volleyball team defeated UVA Wise on the road in its regular season finale, clinching the program's first winning season since 2016 and extending their match-winning streak to six, also their longest since 2016.

- Katrina Misra tied a team-high with 10 kills on a .259 percentage

- Kelcie Love was the third Catawba Indian with double-digit kills with 10 more
- Lauren Patrick had nine more kills
- Dara Kane capped an impressive week with 40 more assists along with 19 digs
- Kary Hales was one of four to log double-digit digs with 19 along with a team-high three aces
- Riley Hill led the team with 27 digs; Rachel Gonzales pitched in 11
- Chloe Danielson and Lauren Bodell added three blocks apiece
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST SET
- Catawba sprinted out to a 5-1 lead in the first set
- The Cavaliers clawed back, winning nine of 11 points to take an 11-8 advantage
- Catawba responded with a 7-2 run to cut back in front, leading 15-13 after Misra's kill
- After UVA Wise cut the deficit to one, Catawba answered back with four straight points to go in front 21-16 on Kane and Chloe Danielson's block
- Back-to-bak kills from Jordan Danielson sealed the set one win
SECOND SET
- The Cavs jumped out to the early 5-1 lead in set two after a solo block
- Catawba clawed back with five of six points, capped by Natalie Rehm's kill to tie the set at 10
- UVA Wise went for three straight points to take a a 14-13 lead midway through the set
- Catawba stormed ahead with an 11-0 run capped by Jordan Danielson's kill to reach set point with a 24-14 lead
THIRD SET
- A Catawba service error broke a 4-4 tie early on in set three
- The Cavs held a small 10-8 lead on Morgan Blevins' kill
- Catawba tied the set at 14, but Wise answered right back with a kill and an ace to hold a slight 16-14 advantage
- The Catawba Indians tied the set at 20 after a Rehm kill and a Wise error
- UVA Wise sprinted to the next five points to steal the set three
FOURTH SET
- After Catawba recorded the first two points of the set, the Cavs got the next five to force an early Catawba timeout
- Wise led 10-5 after Morgan Blankenship's kill
- Catawba battled back with six of eight points to to take a 16-15 lead after Chloe Danielson and Bodell's block
- The Catawba Indians went for four straight points to extend their lead to 20-16 on Ri Arevalo's ace
- After Wise cut their deficit to 23-22, Catawba answered with Chloe Danielson and Bodell kills to claim the match and extend the win streak
