Matthews, N.C. —- The 9th-ranked and second-seeded Catawba College women's soccer team advanced to its second South Atlantic Conference title match in three seasons on Friday afternoon, defeating third-seeded Wingate 2-0 at The Sportsplex at Matthews in the SAC semifinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
- Wingate's Caroline Peters and Brianna Ditillo put the first shots on goal of the game in the 24th and 28th minutes
- Henry struck for the eventual winner in the 35th minute
- The Wingate keeper made saves in the 39th and 43rd minutes
SECOND HALF
- Two Wingate saves surrounded a shot that hit the crossbar as Catawba put the pressure on in the second half
- Jimmo's breakaway was broken up by the Wingate goalkeeper, which drew a red card, dropping Wingate to 10 players
- The Bulldogs' substitute made a pair of saves in her first two minutes of action
- Summerell broke through for an insurance score in the 75th minute
- Catawba kept Wingate away from goal, advancing to their second SAC title match in the last three years
