Hartsville, S.C. —- The Catawba College men's soccer team earned its third straight win over a regionally ranked opponent and fourth overall on Wednesday night, defeating Coker 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
- Sebastia Cerda-Tous recorded a shot in the ninth minute, but the attempt sailed wide
- Birch netted the eventual game-winner off a feed from Nicoletti in the 14th minute
- Shots from the Cobras in the 38th and 44th minutes were high as Catawba held onto its 1-0 lead after 45 minutes
SECOND HALF
- Coker attempted two shots in the early going of the second half, but both missed target
- The Cobras were able to attempt two corner kicks around the 60th minute, but their shots were blocked and missed high
- Allerton got the only other shot on goal from both sides in the game in the 65th minute, but was saved by Coker's keeper
- Catawba continued to defend its way to a winning result, as a trio of Cobra shots missed the mark over the next 10 minutes
- Coker received a red card in the 86th minute to go down a man
- Catawba controlled possession and ran out the clock from there, improving to 3-0-1 in the SAC
