Wilson, N.C. —- The Catawba College football team hits the road for the final time in the 2024 season, traveling to Barton College for the last time as South Atlantic Conference opponents on Saturday in Wilson.

TURNING ON THE AFTER-TURNERS
- Junior running back LJ Turner made history last week, breaking the Catawba single-season rushing record set by Jamelle Cuthbertson in 2008
- Turner now stands at 1,224 rushing yards for the season, good for third best in the country in Division II
- His 13 touchdowns also ranks third best in the nation
ANOTHER SINGLE-DIGIT LOSS
- Each of Catawba's five losses in league play have come by single digits
- Catawba's five losses came by a combined 24 points
- They trailed Wingate by two points with the ball but was stopped on a fourth downs; the Bulldogs tacked on a 60-yard touchdown for good measure with the result in hand
CHIP ON THEIR SHOULDER
- Catawba once again faces former head coach Chip Hester, who now leads the Barton football program
- The 2007 SAC and Region Coach of the Year, Hester was at the helm in Salisbury for 11 seasons from 2002-12
- Under Hester, the Catawba Indians won two league titles and made three playoff appearances
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- Like Catawba, Barton stands at 2-6 overall and 1-5 in SAC play
- The Bulldogs have lost four straight contests, including a pair of back-to-back shutout losses to Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne
- BC's top unit has been its pass defense, which has allowed less than 150 yards per game, good for 11th in the country
- Defensive back Mike Webb leads the SAC in passes defended per game with 1.6
