Spartanburg, S.C. —- The Catawba College women's cross country team finished second at the Converse Invitational, which featured seven of the top eight ranked teams in the region on Saturday afternoon. This course will later host the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional meet in November.

Catawba placed second just behind Wingate, but bested regionally ranked opponents Lincoln Memorial, Anderson, Converse and Lenoir-Rhyne.

Madi Clay paced the Catawba runners with her second straight top-three finish, placing third with a time of 21:57.79. Hannah Caudill earned Catawba's second of two top-10 finishes with a seventh-place mark. Natalie Almond rounded out Catawba's top three finishers with a 12th-place finish.
