GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — In a battle of two South Atlantic Conference programs on winning streaks, the Catawba College women's volleyball team's run came to a grinding halt in a 3-0 setback against Tusculum on Friday evening.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (5-7, 2-5 SAC) improved its hitting percentage throughout the match while Tusculum (7-7, 5-3 SAC) regressed, but were bested in the category .340-.110
- The Catawba Indians were grooving in service, matching the Pioneers 8-8 in aces with four off-target serves compared to Tusculum's 10
- Neither side had a showstopping blocking performance as the foes combined for seven denials; TU led the count 4-3
- The blue and white held a 49-44 advantage in the digs department; each team saw 10 players record a dig in the contest
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Martina Foster launched eight kills with a team-best .375 hitting clip while adding team highs of three service aces and two blocks in her return to Pioneer Arena
- Lillie Kate Rogers and Sofia Beard registered nine and eight kills, respectively, on 10 kills per set apiece
- The offensive attack was rounded out by Chloe Ratliff and Annica Kagle at five kills and one block assist each
- Tamie Boudot and Haley Moffett split setting duties almost straight down the middle; Boudot had 15 assists while Moffett totaled 13, in addition to both players' six digs
- Riley Hill delivered a pair of aces and mustered 14 digs, being followed in the category by Rogers' eight and Ali Rose's seven

Catawba's next matchup will be closer to home on Wednesday, Oct. 14, in a second tilt with nationally ranked Wingate. First serve at Cuddy Arena is slated for 7 p.m.
