PREVIEW: Women's Volleyball tangles with Newberry at Goodman Arena

SALISBURY, N.C. — The Catawba College women's volleyball returns to action at Goodman Arena on Tuesday, seeking a third consecutive South Atlantic Conference sweep against Newberry at 6 p.m.

Broom, Broom
- Catawba made a glorious return to Goodman Arena after a two-match road swing with sweeps of Mars Hill and Tusculum last weekend
- The Catawba Indians have won all four of its SAC matchups in shutout fashion, dispatching Emory & Henry and Lincoln Memorial in a very similar way two weeks prior
- Four conference sweeps is a four-year high for the program after totaling five in the last three seasons combined
- Riley Hill's combined 60 digs (6.67 per set) warranted WePlayed SAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time in her career

Miss Rogers' Neighborhood
- Lillie Kate Rogers posted an impeccable statline in the 2-0 weekend, blasting 26 kills in six sets (4.33 per frame) with seven service aces and 26 digs
- The Hartwell, Ga., native tallied her second double-double of the year against the Lions on Friday with 15 darts and a career-high 18 digs, beating her previous best by five stops
- Rogers holds the team's highest points per set mark at 3.53, ranking ninth in the SAC
- Following last weekend's outburst, Rogers has taken over the squad lead in aces (18) while remaining first among hitters in digs (114)

All-Time Series
- Catawba leads its all-time series with Newberry by a significant 44-16 margin
- On home court, the Catawba Indians have been dominant with a 22-6 advantage over the Wolves
- Newberry prevailed in both of last season's meetings, sweeping the blue and white in the Palmetto State before taking a narrow 3-2 win at Goodman Arena
- In the previous three seasons, both matchups were taken by the same team; Catawba went 0-2 in 2022, 2-0 in 2023, and 0-2 in 2024

Scouting the Wolves
- Newberry has an overall record of 8-7, starting the year with five straight wins before stumbling in conference play in which the Wolves are 3-5
- The Wolves are coming off a 3-1 loss to non-conference foe USC Aiken on Saturday, but snapped a three-match SAC skid on Friday with a sweep of Coker
- Each of the team's league victories came via shutout – sharing that fact with Catawba – over Emory & Henry, Mars Hill and Coker
- Junior outside hitter Anna Schneider paces the SAC in per-set kills (3.51) and points (4.07), posting season totals of 186 kills, 20 aces and 157 digs which are all team highs
