SALISBURY, N.C. — The Catawba College men's golf team hosted the annual Richard Rendleman Invitational and dominated it, boasting four under-par finishers in each of the top four positions.
Due to the small field size, all players competed as individuals instead of contributing to team scores.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Five Catawba golfers made par in the opening round as part of a seven-way tie for the lead through 18 holes
- Antoniadis finished the second round bogeyless with six birdies – going four-under on the back nine – to post a 65 and sail into the clubhouse victorious
- After three pars to start Round 2, Carter registered five consecutive birdies for a 31 on the way in; the junior parred the next half to land at a 66
- Barker improved by three shots heading into the afternoon with five under-par holes to nab a podium position; he finished with no more than four strokes on a single hole
- An up-and-down second round for Bonnet, marked by four bogeys, four birds and an eagle, placed him in fourth place at two-under
- Masterton rallied back from being 27th through 18 to shooting even par in the second round, rising into the top half of the field
NOTES
- Antoniadis beat the previous 36-hole program record by two shots with a 136; Carter's 137 also broke the prior record, putting him in second place
- The second-round 65 from Antoniadis goes down as the second-best round in Catawba history; he is the fourth Catawba golfer – the first in the 21st century – to shoot six-under
- Antoniadis has started the year with five consecutive rounds at par or better; one more will set a new program record
- The round-two scores logged by Antoniadis, Carter, Barker and Bonnet were the best of their careers
- Sebastiano Rollo, a freshman from Milton, Ontario, made his debut in blue and white
UP NEXT
Catawba added a tournament to the fall schedule with the Bash in the Boro on Oct. 13-14. The event is hosted by Georgia Southern and will feature nearly a dozen Division I programs.
