FAIRFAX, Va. — Before opening up its regular season later this week, the Catawba College men's basketball team travels to the DMV for an exhibition game against Division I foe George Mason at EagleBank Arena on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
Year 12 under Perron
- This season is Rob Perron's 12th at Catawba and the 15th of his head coaching career (includes three years at St. Andrews)
- Perron has helped Catawba to three NCAA trips in the last four campaigns
- Coach P went up against George Mason in his first year at Catawba (2014-15), falling 99-69
- As the Director of Basketball Operations at Charlotte, Perron was on the 49er bench during a 78-56 loss to GMU at the Charleston Classic in 2010
Returning Pieces
- Nine student-athletes return to suit up for the Catawba Indians
- Catawba is loaded in the frontcourt with defending All-South Atlantic Conference honoree Nick Walker, Ibra Athie, Justin Banks, Jashaun Hawkins, Jalen Hilliard, Zion McDuffie and Solomon Tucker coming back after getting big minutes
- Twin guards Carson Daniel and Chase Daniel bring a year of experience to a position with multiple new faces
Meet the Brand New Guys
- Eight members of the program are in their first season at Catawba
- Four are true freshmen, including Jacob Bryant who stood out during a prep year at Middle Georgia Prep
- Another four are transfers (two from four-years, two from two-years), highlighted by Jordan Simpson whose previous stops are South Carolina State and regional opponent Francis Marion

- Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, the streaming-only arm of the "Worldwide Leader in Sports"
- The Catawba Indians found the national spotlight last season when Banks' game-winning, put-back dunk in the opener vs. Lander was the No. 1 play on SportsCenter Top 10
