#3 Women’s Soccer claims fifth SAC regular season crown in program history

Salisbury, N.C. — The third-ranked Catawba College women's soccer team secured its fifth South Atlantic Conference regular season in program history and an undefeated finish to the regular season with a scoreless draw with Lenoir-Rhyne.

- Lenoir-Rhyne out-shot Catawba 14-8

- The Bears recorded two of three shots on goal

- The Catawba Indians had three of five corner kicks

- Catawba was called for 10 of 16 fouls

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS

- Jenni D?hne made two saves in goal for the clean sheet

- Bree Ehmer put a shot on goal for the Catawba Indians

- Lucy Hack, Ali Skinner and Reese Robinson led a Catawba defense that has not allowed a goal in over 560 minutes of game action

HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST HALF

- Ava Hartman got the first shot on goal for either side in the 13th minute, but D?hne made the save

- Neither side recorded a shot on goal the rest of the way in a high-quality defensive opening 45 minutes

SECOND HALF

 - The Bears fired the first shot on goal of the second half in the 75th minute

- Catawba's best chance of the game came when Ehmer's 1v1 matchup with the LR goalkeeper was saved and glanced off the crossbar in the 78th

- The Bears earned a corner kick in the final two minutes, but the opportunity came up empty as Catawba claimed the SAC title

GAME NOTES

- Fifth regular season title in program history; second under head coach Nick Brown

- First since 2021, when Catawba also finished the regular season undefeated

- The Catawba Indians scored the most goals and allowed the least goals among SAC teams this season
