Women's Volleyball pushes Anderson to five frames in valiant Senior Night stand

SALISBURY, N.C. — In front of an electric crowd at Goodman Arena, the Catawba College women's volleyball team left it all on the court in a 3-2 shootout with the Anderson Trojans on Friday night.

TEAM STATS
- Largely buffeted by one of the South Atlantic Conference's finest blocking defenses, Catawba (8-13, 5-11 SAC) hit .173 against the Trojans' (19-5, 14-2 SAC) mark of .201
- The Catawba Indians outnumbered Anderson in kills (58-56) with a marginally better setting percentage (.320-.311)
- Catawba compiled double-digit service aces for the second time this season, landing 10 darts with eight errors as the Trojans were similar in accuracy, going 9-9
- Defensively, the blue and white romped to a 72-56 edge in digs but Anderson punished Catawba at the net with a whopping 16-5 lead in blocks

INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Martina Foster whacked 12 kills with just three miscues, drilling a pair of aces while scooping up eight digs and elevating for three blocks, sharing the team lead in stops with Annica Kagle
- Lillie Kate Rogers turned in her fourth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 11 digs, shutting down the Trojans at the net twice
- Lauren Patrick recorded back-to-back high-efficiency performances as the junior batted .412 with 11 kills in addition to two blocks
- Haley Moffett shined with 28 assists and eight digs, sharing the setter position with Tamie Boudot who collected 22 dimes and nine digs
- Boudot and Ali Rose led the way in service with three aces apiece, marking career highs for both freshmen
- Riley Hill topped the lineup in digs with 26 stops, the third-best value of her junior campaign

UP NEXT
With the Catawba Indians' home slate complete, the squad heads to Newberry on Tuesday, Nov. 11 for the first of two remaining regular-season matches. First serve against the Wolves is slated for 6 p.m.
