Salisbury, N.C. — The Catawba College women's basketball team takes on a top-10 opponent in the nation on Wednesday when it welcomes 9th-ranked Coker to Goodman Arena in South Atlantic Conference action.

- The matchup features the last two teams from the South Atlantic Conference to win the Southeast Regional tournament – Catawba won the regional title at home in 2022-23 en route to its national semifinal appearance; Coker won last year's SE regional at North Georgia
- The Catawba Indians remain the only team in South Atlantic Conference history to reach an NCAA Division II national semifinal
- These teams have combined to win the last three SAC regular season titles, combining to go 75-39 in league play since the start of the 2022-23 season
 
GIANT SLAYER
- Coker will look to avenge its loss in Goodman Arena a season ago when Coker – then also ranked ninth in the country – saw its 14-game win streak come to an end for just its second loss of the season
- The loss was one of just four for the Cobras in conference play last season
- The win was Catawba's fourth win of a top-10 ranked team in the WBCA poll and the first since defeating 8th-ranked Cal State-Dominguez Hills in the national quarterfinal in 2023
 
SCOUTING THE COBRAS
- Coker is off to another successful start on the heels of a regional title, winning eight of their first nine games of the season
- The Cobras' lone loss of the season came against Augusta, who the Catawba Indians defeated on the road in overtime back in November
- Reigning SAC Player of the Year Shawnteanna Tillman returns to Coker, averaging over 20 points per game on less than 30 minutes per contest with over five rebounds and nearly three steals per contest
