Salisbury, N.C. —- The Catawba College beach volleyball team earned two more wins over South Atlantic Conference teams over the weekend with wins in both ends of a doubleheader versus Erskine and Emmanuel.
GAME ONE | Catawba 3, Erskine 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Christina Knotts and Morgan Childress earned a quick 21-7 win in the opening set before grinding to a 22-20 win in set two to finish off the early-morning sweep
- Katie Willingham and Kennedy Kimbro took the opening set 21-12 before falling 18-21 in set two; the duo bounced back with a 15-9 win in the decisive third to help push towards clinching the match
- Sidney Kettelkamp and Brooke Vaughan helped provide the win in the overall match with a thrilling comeback win after dropping the first set 14-21 with consecutive 21-17 and 16-14 wins in set three to help claim another SAC win for the Catawba Indians

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kettelkamp and Vaughan won two tight sets 21-15 and 21-18 to help get the team off to a quick start in the nightcap
- Knotts and Childress once again won their opening set with a 21-13 victory before falling in the second set by the same score; the pair won a nail-biting decisive third with a 15-13 win
- Willingham and Kimbro fought to the end in their first two sets – winning the first 24-22 and dropping the second 22-20; the duo then rolled to a 15-5 win in set three to help secure the match
